The ability to quickly show a more final image in preview mode is a welcomed feature. The problem now is that what you see in your "preview" window is no longer a true preview of the final rendered image or video. Over the last couple of years Lumion has been improving their rendering quality dramatically with the use of new effects, lighting, reflections, and shadows. This was a feature I was pretty excited about, until I used it. If you haven't subscribed to my channel yet, please do! ) As I mentioned in the video, I am trying to get to 60K subscribers on YoTube this year. I published a really cool video about how I designed this particular project.įirst, if you are not a reader and would rather watch me talk about Lumion 10 while doing some live demonstration, check out the video below: So, check out my review of all of what I think are the most important new features of Lumion 10 and decide for yourself.įYI, the test project I am using in both Lumion 9 and 10 is called Stilted Studios. It's the features that differentiate the versions. The rendering and animation output qualities between 8, 9, and 10 are very similar.

LUMION 9 NODES LICENSE
And if you don't have a license of Lumion right now, get Lumion 10. If you are not using Lumion right now, you should be. By reading all of my reviews you will see that I believe you should be using Lumion, regardless of version. Why bother reading older reviews? Because you'll notice over the years the reviews have evolved into comparing the latest version of Lumion with it's previous. Lumion released it's latest version a couple of months ago (Lumion 10) and I have been testing, using, and taking notes about it to share with you all.įirst, if you have not seen all of my previous Lumion reviews, you definitely should check them out: Then with the desired entourage object selected, follow the steps above once again using newly imported nodes for the updated placement.Well, it's about that time again. In Lumion, Select similar entourage object and delete.
LUMION 9 NODES UPDATE
Therefore, when you need to update a significant number of tree, plant or light locations of a specific type. Updating Entourage at Nodes: At this moment I do not believe it is possible to have a dynamic link between the nodes imported from SketchUp and the entourage placed at these nodes in Lumion.
LUMION 9 NODES FREE
Your selected tree, plant or light should have populated at each node in the model, now feel free to delete your nodes model out of Lumion.

Next using “selection mode”, using the context menu, select your node model, click extra, and place item on nodes, next select either “place current tree on nodes” or “place current light on nodes”. Step 4: Using the object menu and while in “place mode”, select one tree, plant or light which you want to place at the nodes. The node model should move into its correct location as it was originally placed in SketchUp. Step 3: Now align the models: select both models (roadway and node model), then using the context menu click on the main (locked) model, click transform, and align. It doesn’t matter where you place it in the model because aligning the two models is your next step. Next, import your separate node file into Lumion. For good practice purposes remember to lock your base model in Lumion before continuing. Step 2: Import your base SketchUp model (roadway model in example) as you normally would into Lumion, but with any nodes (trees, plants, or lights) on their own layer and turned off. Copy your nodes and “paste in place” into a clean SketchUp file. A “node” is essentially a component in SketchUp (I created a cylindrical component). Step 1: In SketchUp, you need to place nodes at the location you want a tree, plant, or light placement to occur.
